COVID-19 Vaccine Updates

  • Everyone 12 Years of Age and Older is Now Eligible for the COVID-19 Vaccine. COVID-19 vaccines are an important tool that will help us end the pandemic. Get vaccinated as soon as you can. Check https://myturn.ca.gov or call (833) 422-4255 for help finding a nearby vaccine appointment. You can also go to VaccineFinder.org, or check with your healthcare provider or local pharmacy.   • Vaccine Appointment Reminders:

  • Please bring your CDC COVID-19 vaccination card to your second-dose appointment. Take care of this card as it is your record of vaccination.

  • If you can no longer attend your vaccine appointment, please cancel your appointment so that it can be opened for other people.

  • If you need a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, but don’t have an appointment, you can call the County’s COVID-19 Call Center at (831) 454-4242 or you can email HSAC19VaccineClinics@santacruzcounty.us. Please include the date and type (Moderna or Pfizer) of your first dose for help in getting scheduled.


COVID-19 Vaccine Resources

  • Youth-Led COVID-19 Vaccine Videos. FoodWhat?! is producing weekly videos with up-to-date COVID-19 information from youth, for youth. The videos give youth direct access to trusted voices to help them make informed decisions about how to stay safe during the pandemic. Recent videos feature Lupita, a Watsonville High School Senior, sharing her thoughts as she got vaccinated, and explaining how to sign up for an appointment through the MyTurn website.   • California Department of Public Health Vaccine Fact Sheets. Click here to view downloadable COVID-19 vaccine fact sheets in multiple languages to help you decide which vaccine is right for you. CDC does not recommend one vaccine over another. The most important decision is to get a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible.

  • Vaccine Interest Survey for Homebound Individuals. If you are a homebound resident of Santa Cruz County and would like to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at home, please visit https://www.santacruzhealth.org/coronavirusvaccine and click the “homebound vaccination” survey link near the top of the page. Available in English and Spanish.

  • Bridges to Access: Community Bridges COVID-19 Vaccination Helpline. If you are over 65, call the Bridges to Access Vaccination Helpline for help in getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Bilingual staff provide information and help make appointments. Staff are also able to help homebound individuals fill out the vaccine interest survey for homebound individuals. Please call (831) 219-8607 and leave a message with your name, phone number, age, and zip code. They will call you back within 48 hours.

General COVID-19 Updates

  • Santa Cruz County Moves to the Yellow Tier. Low case counts and test positivity rates have allowed Santa Cruz County to further lift economic restrictions. Certain sectors may increase indoor capacity and resume indoor operations. For more information and sector specific guidance, visit https://covid-19.ca.gov/safer-economy.

  • California will align its mask guidance with CDC’s on June 15th, 2021. California will keep existing mask guidance in place until June 15th, when the state expects to fully reopen the economy. While vaccinated persons no longer are required to wear masks in most outdoor settings, all residents are currently required to continue wearing face coverings in indoor settings.   • California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Face Covering Guidance. Vaccinated persons may remove face coverings while outdoors, unless attending crowded outdoor events. Unvaccinated persons must still wear face coverings outdoors anytime physical distancing cannot be maintained. Face coverings are still required to be worn in indoor settings outside of one’s home, regardless of vaccination status. Click here to read the full guidance.
